“I’ve always been really fond of this 1999 version of the classic fish & chip shop poster. It was hung up at the local chip shop near my primary school, and I would gaze at it while waiting for my order. This is my recreation of the iconic poster as a ink pen line drawing. Something I really enjoyed during the process was googling a variety of photos of a particular fish species to try to create a good representation. Seeing photos of these fish in a variety of different angles, poses, and environments, alive and in the water, gave me such an appreciation for how beautiful, interesting, and playful they really are.”
Jenny’s wonderful illustration is a great example of how effective a single colour print can be.
Like many of the designs we print, this one is unlikely to be left in a drawer or put into active use, however;
We print tea towels with water based dye concentrate – As such the prints sit in the fabric. This leaves the tea towels perfect for drying dishes or handling hot items (not recommend, and we totally don’t do this… honest).
It is also purchasable as a poster at redbubble. Additionally we can bulk print this design, rights to do so are granted on a case by case basis by the artist and will incur an additional fee over our standard print rates.
